DURHAM, N.C. – Justin Bibbs scored a team-high 15 points inside Cameron Indoor Stadium, but it was not enough against Duke, as the Blue Devils won 74-52 over the Virginia Tech men’s basketball team on Wednesday night.

The Hokies (18-8, 7-6 ACC) dropped their first road loss in conference play since Jan. 13, while the Blue Devils (21-5, 9-4 ACC) won their second straight game.

Bibbs tallied the most points for Tech in a game for the fifth time this season, and Kerry Blackshear Jr. recorded nine points, four rebounds and an assist.

In the opening 20 minutes of the contest, each side was hot from downtown as the two teams combined for 12 triples. Bibbs led the charge for the Hokies, going a perfect 3-for-3 behind the arc.

Neither team sustained a bigger lead than two possessions, until Duke closed on a 7-0 run going into the locker room with a 36-28 advantage. Tech only committed two turnovers compared to the Blue Devils’ eight.

Duke got into a rhythm starting the second half, going on a 14-3 run to take a 56-39 lead following back-to-back buckets by Javin DeLaurier at the 11:38 mark, forcing a Tech timeout.

The Blue Devils would keep rolling, extending their lead to 26 points.

P.J. Horne closed the game scoring Tech’s final six points. It was Horne’s second-most points scored in an ACC game.

Grayson Allen paced Duke, registering a game-high 25 points and six assists.

NOTES

• The Hokies capitalized on Duke’s miscues, scoring 20 points off of turnovers compared to Duke’s seven.

• Bibbs stayed steady, hitting six field goals on the night to mark his 10^th time this year drilling six or more. The senior is shooting 58 percent (35-of-60) his last six games.

• Guard Justin Robinson posted five points and assists with only one turnover, marking his third straight game of owning four-plus assists.

• A low-scoring affair off the bench, Tech owned a 15-7 advantage from its reserves.
