Buzz Williams named Virginia Coach of the Year by VaSID
Seth Allen and Zach LeDay named second team All-State

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech men’s basketball coach Buzz Williams has been named the 2017 Virginia Coach of the Year, in voting by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID). Hokie seniors Seth Allen and Zach LeDay were named second team All-State by VaSID.
Williams was named Coach of the Year after leading the Hokies to their first NCAA appearance in 10 years. Tech finished 22-11 overall and 10-8 in the ACC, the second consecutive season reaching 20 wins and 10 ACC wins. The Hokies were 11-1 in non-conference play and advanced to the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament. Tech defeated three nationally ranked teams this season, including No. 5 Duke and rival No. 12 Virginia.
LeDay and Allen led the Hokies in scoring this season. Both were named honorable mention All-ACC by both the blue ribbon committee and the media association. Each was named ACC Sixth Man of the Year; Allen by the blue ribbon committee and LeDay by the media association.
