Hokies face Demon Deacons in ACC Tournament

The seventh seed Virginia Tech men's basketball team plays 10th seed Wake Forest on Wednesday, March 8 in the second round of the 2017 ACC Tournament. The game, to be played in Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, will tip at 7 p.m. The game will be shown nationally on ESPN2 and regionally on The ACC Network.

THE HOKIES (21-9, 10-8)
The Hokies enter the game 21-9 overall and 10-8 in ACC action. Tech lost to Wake Forest, 89-84, in Cassell Coliseum on Saturday afternoon. Zach LeDay led the Hokies with 24 points and 10 assists for his fifth double-double of the season. He also scored his 1,000th point as a Hokie. Seth Allen added 20 points on Senior Day.

THE DEMON DEACONS (19-12, 9-9)
Wake Forest enters the game 19-12 overall and 9-9 in league play. The Demon Deacons defeated Boston College, 92-78, on Tuesday afternoon in the first round of the ACC Tournament. Bryant Crawford led Wake Forest with 20 points. Wake Forest is coached by Danny Manning, in his third season in Winston-Salem.

THE SERIES
The Hokies lead the series, 32-31. Wake Forest defeated the Hokies, 89-84, in Blacksburg on March 4 in the only meeting of the season between the two schools. Tech is 2-3 in neutral court games against Wake Forest and 2-0 in ACC Tournament games against the Demon Deacons. Virginia Tech is 12-7 against the Demon Deacons since Tech joined the ACC in the 2004-05 season. Tech is 3-2 against Wake Forest under Buzz Williams and 1-0 in ACC Tournament games against Wake Forest under Williams.
