Zach LeDay recorded his second double-double in three games with 13 points and 10 rebounds ... Tech out rebounded VMI, 49-37 and held the Keydets to just 25.7 percent from the field.

The Virginia Tech defense stepped it up in the win over VMI ... Tech allowed the Keydets to shoot just 25.7 percent from the field for the game, including just 20.5 percent (eight of 39) in the second half ... The 25.7 percent allowed is the lowest by a Buzz Williams-coached team and the lowest by the Hokies since Dec. 10, 2012, when Tech allowed Mississippi Valley State 25.7 percent from the floor.
An Active Night
In the Hokies’ win over VMI, Johnny Hamilton had his first big game for Tech ... The junior college transfer set career-highs with eight points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots in the game, playing in 16 minutes of action.
Stepping Up for the Hokies
With the injury to Devin Wilson, Justin Robinson has been asked to play a big role for the Hokies in the early season ... Robinson has started each of the last two games for Tech and in the win over VMI, scored 11 points to register his first career double-figure scoring game.
