Virginia Tech hosts Jacksonville State in the second game of the Emerald Coast Classic in Cassell Coliseum on Wednesday night. The game, tipping off at 7 p.m., will be broadcast on ESPN3.

He had 26 points and 15 rebounds, both career-highs for him, including his two seasons playing at South Florida ... The 26 points is the most by a Hokie since Jalen Hudson scored 32 points in the win over Wake Forest in the first round of the 2015 ACC Tournament ... The last Hokie to record a double-double in a season opener was Jarell Eddie, who scored 17 points and 10 rebounds in the 2013-14 season opening win over East Tennessee State ... The last Hokie to record a double-double in his first game as a Hokie was Dorian Finney-Smith, who had 10 points and 16 rebounds in the 2011-12 season opening win over East Tennessee State ... The last time a Hokie scored more than 26 points in a season-opener was Terry Taylor, who scored 28 points in the 2002-03 season-opener against St. Bonaventure in St. Thomas, V.I. ... It marks the first time that any Hokie scored 20-or-more-points in a season opener since Erick Green had 21 points in the 2012-13 season opening win over ETSU ... The last time a Hokie newcomer recorded a double-double of at least 20 points was Dale Solomon, who scored 23 points and had 11 rebounds in his Virginia Tech debut on Nov. 25, 1978 against Buffalo State ... LeDay’s 26 points is the most by a player in his first Virginia Tech game since at least 1978, when the Hokies entered the Metro Conference.

When Zach LeDay grabbed 15 rebounds in the Alabama State game, it marked the most rebounds for a Hokie since Marshall Wood grabbed 16 rebounds at NC State on Feb. 16, 2013.
