Virginia Tech vs. No. 19/21 UNC Game Notes

Virginia Tech hosts No. 19/21 North Carolina on Saturday afternoon on Senior Day in Cassell Coliseum. Prior to the game, Virginia Tech will honor seniors Jarell Eddie and Cadarian Raines, along with four senior managers. The game will tip-off at 2:30 p.m. and will be televised by the ACC Network.

About Today’s Game

The Hokies are 9-18 on the season and 2-13 in ACC action.The Tar Heels are 21-7 overall and 11-4 in the ACC after an 85-84 overtime win at NC State on Wednesday night. UNC is ranked 19th in the AP poll and 21st in the coaches poll

Today is Senior Day in Cassell Coliseum. The Hokies will honor Cadarian Raines and Jarell Eddie prior to today’s game.

Setting a New Standard

Devin Wilson set a new Virginia Tech freshman record in the home loss to Virginia. He now has 127 assists this season, the most ever for a Tech freshman, breaking the old mark of 113, set by Hank Thorns in the 2007-08 season.

Scoring 1,100

Jarell Eddie currently has 1,129 points at Virginia Tech and is 37th in career scoring for the Hokies.

Injury Update

Adam Smith (left calf strain) is out for today’s game. Ben Emelogu (left ankle) and Cadarian Raines (left ankle) are questionable for today’s game.

Up Next

The Hokies hit the road Tuesday, as they make their final ACC appearance at Maryland. The game, televised on The ACC Network, will tip at 8 p.m.
