Virginia Tech vs. Boston College Game Notes

Virginia Tech hosts Boston College in Cassell Coliseum on Saturday afternoon. The game, scheduled for a noon tip on regional sports netwroks, is part of Virginia Tech's Alumni Weekend.

About Today’s Game

The Hokies are 8-6 on the season and 1-1 in ACC action.

The Eagles are 4-11 overall and 0-2 in the ACC after a 62-60 loss to Clemson last Saturday.

The Eagles lead the all-time series, 15-8.

#2/2 Syracuse 72, VT 52

The Hokies lost to #2/2 Syracuse, 72-52, in Cassell Coliseum on Tuesday night.

C.J. Barksdale came off the bench to score a team-high 12 points for the Hokies.

Tech committed a season-low eight turnovers, but were out rebounded, 41-25, by the Orange.

Adam Smith returned to the Tech line-up after missing most of the last month with a strained left calf, scoring nine points of three, three-pointers.

Rankin Leaves Team

Junior guard Marquis Rankin has decided to leave the team, effective immediately, but will remain at Virginia Tech as a student.

Scoring 1,000

With his first three-pointer of the loss to #2/2 Syracuse, Jarell Eddie became the 44th player in school history to score 1,000 career points.

Eddie currently has 1,003 points at Virginia Tech.

Alumni Weekend

Today’s game is part of Alumni Weekend for Virginia Tech Men’s Basketball. A large number of former players are expected back on campus for the event.

Up Next

Tech will conclude this three-game homestand on Wednesday night, as they host Clemson. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. and the game will be televised on regional sports networks.
