BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech women’s lacrosse team has announced it’s 2015 schedule that features eight games to be played at Thompson Field. The Hokies will face nine teams that participated in the 2014 NCAA Tournament, while also welcoming conference newcomer, Louisville.
Tech will begin the year traveling to Liberty on Friday, Feb. 6 for a 4 p.m. game. Following the season opener, the Hokies will play their first game at home as they host James Madison on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 4 p.m. They will remain at home through the weekend as Ohio State comes to town for a Sunday afternoon matchup.
The next weekend, Tech will head south for a pair of games. The Hokies will travel to High Point on Friday, Feb. 20, before working their way even further down the coast to take on Coastal Carolina.
On Friday, Feb. 27 Tech will return home to host Old Dominion, before closing out the weekend on Sunday against Gardner-Webb. This will be the first meeting between the Hokies and Bulldogs, and the first time former Hokie Jacquelyn Duggins has faced her alma mater as a head coach.
The following week marks the beginning of conference play, as the Hokies hit the road again to take on Duke on Friday, March 6. Tech will then leave for games at Michigan and Notre Dame during the week of Spring Break.
The Hokies will have some down time following the week on the road, and will return to the field on Saturday, March 21 to host the ACC’s newest member, Louisville. Tech will welcome North Carolina and William & Mary the next week before heading north to Syracuse for a Saturday game on April 4.
Tech will play its final home game of the season against Boston College on Saturday, April 11 at noon, before back-to-back trips to Charlottesville. The Hokies will face Virginia in their final game before the ACC Tournament, and will return to the home of the ‘Hoos for the tournament, held April 23-26. Tech will play one last regular season game after the tournament, as it will travel to Annapolis, Maryland to face Navy at 11 a.m.
