LYNCHBURG, Va. – Redshirt senior Christina Patten was named to the 2013 Virginia VaSID All-State women’s lacrosse team Friday afternoon. The team is voted on by Virginia Sports Information Directors. This is the first award for the Chantilly, Va., native.
Patten led the ACC this season in caused turnovers and finished the year with 23. She also added 19 ground balls and one assist, while helping hold 10 of Tech’s 16 opponents to single-digit scoring. A four-year starter, Patten wrapped up her career with 40 caused turnovers and 55 ground balls.
Virginia’s Julie Myers and Casey Bocklet earned All-State Coach and Player of the Year, respectively, while Liberty’s Kallie Britton was named All-State Rookie of the Year.
