BLACKSBURG – Saturday is the 2018 Spring Game at Virginia Tech as the Hokies host an intra-squad scrimmage at Lane Stadium. Here's a quick rundown of information for fans to answer the most frequently asked questions leading up to the game.

* Football gameday parking will open at 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 14 – Due to the 3.2 Run in Remembrance in the morning, Lot 1 will not open until approximately noon and can only be accessed from Washington Street. Beamer Way will be closed beginning at 8 a.m. until the conclusion of the Spring Game. There will be several roads closed due to the run – for more information - Link
Q. What time is the game and what time do stadium games open?
Saturday’s kickoff time is set for 3:30 p.m. ET at Lane Stadium. Stadium gates 1-7 will open at 1:30 p.m. Beamer Way will close to traffic at 8 a.m. Seating is available on the West Side, South End Zone (upper and lower), North End Zone and the lower part of the East Stands.
Q: Where can I park?
Parking is available in the lots surrounding the stadium on a first-come, first-served basis. Lot 1 (Cassell Lot) will not open until around noon. RV parking is also on a first-come, first-served basis. The back section of Lot 3 has 18 spaces, once these are filled, RVs will be directed to the cage lot or “B” lot (Prices Fork). RV parking is available after 5 p.m. on Friday.
ADA parking has been reserved in Lot 3. There will also be courtesy shuttles to transport patrons from the lot to the stadium. ADA seating is available on the West Side and Upper South End Zone.
Q: Any special events for Saturday’s game?
There are several events this weekend surrounding Saturday’s game, including the grand opening of English Field at Union Park as the baseball team hosts Louisville. Following the Spring Game and a cooling off period for the players, fans will be allowed on to Worsham Field to get autographs from our student-athletes. This autograph session will last approximately 60 minutes.

Q: What is the format and scoring system for Saturday’s game?
Saturday’s game will consist of a controlled offense vs. defense scrimmage with some limited special teams situations. Coach Fuente will dress the defense in Maroon (visitor) and the offense in White (home).
Rules and protocol
- Game will consist of four, 12-minute quarters (running clock) and a 10-minute halftime
- Quarterbacks will be in orange uniforms with no contact
- No rush on field goals and PATs
- In punting situations, only the punter, snapper and return man will be on the field
- Ball will be placed where the return man fields the ball
- No kickoffs, ball will be placed on the 35-yard line following scores

Q. What time does Hokie Village open and close?
Hokie Village will open at noon on the field directly west of Lane Stadium across Beamer Way. Hokie Village closes at 2:45 p.m. It will feature food trucks and the Virginia Tech wrestling team will be signing autographs. There will be lawn games set-up as well.

Q. What weather can we expect for the game?
Saturday looks to be a beautiful day in Blacksburg with the high temperatures anticipated in the mid to upper 70s with a 10 percent chance of precipitation. Winds SSW 10-15 mph. Sunrise is approximately 6:48 a.m. and setting at 7:55 p.m. As always, check for updated forecasts and plan accordingly.
Q: Will the game be televised or broadcast on radio?
Jon Laaser and Mike Burnop will call the action on the Virginia Tech IMG Sports Network (Affiliates) with exclusive in-game sideline interviews with coaches and notable returning Tech alums by Andrew Allegretta. Fans in-stadium can listen on 105.3 FM. The broadcast will also be available on hokiesports.com on the HokiesXtra App and via TuneIn. The game will not be televised, but HokieVision will provide full highlights and postgame coverage following the game. Live in-game Tweets will be provided by @VT_Football.

Q: Are there any road construction issues that could impact my travel plans?
Several roads around campus will be closed Saturday morning due to the 3.2 Run in Remembrance.

Q: Where can I find info on Blacksburg Transit?
Saturday, April 14: BT Access provides free ADA shuttle service for passengers with disabilities to and from Lane Stadium. Please call BT Access at 540-961-1803 for more details.
Blacksburg Transit will provide a shuttle from Lot 20 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. and will also offer postgame service.
All shuttles will leave from Washington Street, by Cassell Coliseum after the game. BT staff will be available in safety vests to direct passengers.

Q. Any policies this season for Lane Stadium?
The Hokies have a clear bag policy that began for the 2016 season. The following are approved to be carried into Lane Stadium:
Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x12”
One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
Small clutch bag approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap and no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”
This policy is also in place beginning this season for games at English Field at Union Park.

Q. What items are restricted or permitted at Lane Stadium?
Lane Stadium has adopted several “best practices” that have been implemented at many major collegiate, professional and entertainment venues nationwide. Providing a safe environment for our guests remains an ongoing priority at Virginia Tech, along with increasing the comfort and efficiency of all individuals entering the facility.

In order to provide a more enjoyable experience and for the safety of all fans, the following items are not allowed in the stadium:
