Cardinals, Redskins contest features multiple Hokies

Sunday, Dec. 17

Arizona at Washington – 1 p.m.
Head Coach Bruce Arians and the Arizona Cardinals take on CB Kendall Fuller, S DeAngelo Hall and the Washington Redskins. The Cardinals (6-7) are coming off a close win against the Titans, while the Redskins (5-8) are coming off a loss to the chargers. Fuller had two tackles on the day. DeAngelo Hall did not play in the contest.

Tech Alum Nick Rapone serves as the defensive backs coach for the Cardinals’ staff, while former Hokie Torrian Gray serves as the Redskins’ secondary coach.

Other Sunday games featuring Hokies

Miami at Buffalo – 1 p.m.
QB Tyrod Taylor, TE Logan Thomas and the Buffalo Bills host AFC East rival Miami Dolphins. The Bills (7-6) are coming off an OT win against the Colts and currently hold the sixth seed in the AFC Playoff race, while the Dolphins are coming off a 27-20 win against the Patriots. Tyrod Taylor returned to practice on Wednesday after last week’s matchup. Head coach Sean McDermott announced Friday that Taylor will start in Sunday's matchup. Thomas did not record any stats last week.

WR Isaiah Ford is on IR for the Dolphins after suffering an injury during the preseason.

Baltimore at Cleveland – 1 p.m.
S Chuck Clark and the Baltimore Ravens face AFC North rival Cleveland Browns. The Ravens (7-6) are coming off a loss to the Steelers, while the Browns (0-13) are coming off an overtime loss to the Packers. Clark did not record any stats in last week’s matchup. T Laurence Gibson is a member of the Browns’ practice squad.

N.Y. Jets at Saints – 1 p.m.
RB Trey Edmunds and the No. 1 offense of the New Orleans Saints host the N.Y. Jets. The Saints (9-4) are currently the fourth seed in the NFC Playoff race. New Orleans is coming off a 20-17 loss to the Falcons. The Jets are coming off a 23-0 loss to the Broncos. Edmunds recorded one special teams tackles in the loss. He has so far tallied six special teams tackles, returned three kickoffs for 65 yards and has carried the ball nine times for 48 yards and a touchdown.

L.A. Rams at Seattle – 4:05 p.m.
T Duane Brown and the Seattle Seahawks (8-5) host the L.A. Rams in a battle for the top spot in the NFC West. The Seahawks (8-5) are coming off a loss to the Jaguars, while the Rams are coming off a loss to the Eagles and are the currently the third seed in the NFC playoff picture.

Tennessee at San Francisco – 4:25 p.m.
S Antone Exum, Jr. and the San Francisco 49ers host the Tennessee Titans. The 49ers (3-10) are coming off a win against the Texans, while the Titans (8-5) are coming off a loss to the Cardinals. Antone Exum, Jr. did not record any stats on the day for the 49ers.

Philadelphia at N.Y. Giants – 1 p.m.
The Philadelphia Eagles host NFC East rival N.Y. Giants. The Eagles are coming of a 43-35 win against the Rams, while the Giants are coming off a 30-10 loss to the Cowboys. Tech alums Eugene Chung and Keith Gray are both on the Eagles’ staff. T Nick Becton is a member of the Giants’ practice squad.

Green Bay at Carolina – 1 p.m.
The Green Bay Packers take on the Carolina Panthers. The Packers are coming off a 27-21 overtime win against the Browns, while the Panthers are coming off a 31-24 win against the Vikings.. QB Jerod Evans is a member of the Packers’ practice squad.

Houston at Jacksonville – 1 p.m.
The Houston Texans face off against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Texans are coming of a 26-16 loss to the 49ers, while the Jaguars are coming off 30-24 win against the Seahawks and hold the third seed. TE Ryan Malleck is a member of the Texans’ practice squad.

Saturday, Dec. 16

Detroit 20, Chicago 10
CB Kyle Fuller and the Chicago Bears lost a 20-10 decision at Ford Field on Saturday. The Bears are now 4-10, while the Lions improved to 8-6 to stay in the NFC Wild Card race. Fuller is having a breakout season with the Bears, owning a career-high 66 tackles and 16 pass deflections.
