With regular season in the books, Hokies await bowl destination
Tech will be heading to its 25th consecutive bowl game next month, the longest active streak college football

BLACKSBURG – After extending its streak against in-state rival Virginia last Friday in the Commonwealth Clash, No. 22 Virginia Tech will now eagerly await the destination for their 25th consecutive bowl game, the longest active streak in the nation as recognized by the NCAA.
The Hokies will know their bowl game on Sunday, Dec. 3. Ticket and other bowl game information will be communicated on Sunday as well.
HOKIES AWAIT BOWL DESTINATION
• Virginia Tech is coming off a 10-0 win at Virginia, extending the Hokies’ streak of supremacy over UVA to 14 consecutive Commonwealth Cup victories.
• Tech is seeking back-to-back 10-win seasons for the first time since rattling off eight straight campaigns with double-digit wins from 2004-11 under Frank Beamer.
• In Tech’s nine wins, the Hokies have outscored their foes 296-75, an average margin of 32.9 to 8.3.
• No opponent has scored more than 24 points in any of Tech’s wins. Seven of those foes have been held to 14 points or fewer, including three shutouts.
• Tech is 17-3 under Justin Fuente against unranked foes.

• The Lunch Pail Defense is third in the FBS in scoring defense (13.5 points per game) and owns an FBS-best three shutouts.
• The nation’s top five teams in scoring defense own a combined 54-6 (.900) record.
