Safety Terrell Edmunds awarded Beamer No. 25 for Clemson

BLACKSBURG – Head coach Justin Fuente announced Thursday that redshirt junior S Terrell Edmunds has earned the distinction of wearing Frank Beamer’s No. 25 jersey for Saturday’s game against Clemson.

This weekend’s game will mark the second time the Danville, Virginia native has worn the honorary number in his career. His first time wearing the Beamer No. 25 came in Tech’s 35-24 comeback win against Arkansas in the Belk Bowl. Edmunds came up with a crucial interception in the third quarter that led to a touchdown as Tech cut the Razorbacks’ lead down to 24-21.

Edmunds is tied for fourth on the squad with 20 tackles (14 solo) and is tied for second on the defense with three pass breakups. He registered an interception in Tech’s 27-0 win over Delaware on Sept. 9. He also has a sack on the season.

At the beginning of the season of last season, head coach Justin Fuente announced that a special teams player of the week would be selected to wear the No. 25 jersey as a tribute to Coach Beamer and his legacy of special teams excellence he spawned for the Hokies.
