Here are our top three games to watch this weekend featuring Hokies
Baltimore vs. Jacksonville – 9:30 a.m.
Yes, you read that time correctly! Start your Sunday watching S Chuck Clark and the Ravens. Baltimore Ravens travels across the pond to play the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium in London. The Ravens are red hot after starting the season 2-0 and seek to continue the hot streak against the Jaguars. 2017 draft pick Clark recorded his first career tackle in last week’s win against the Browns.
New Orleans at Carolina – 1 p.m.
RB Trey Edmunds and the New Orleans Saints face off against the Carolina Panthers in a key NFC South clash. The Saints are still searching for their first win of the season, which will be a daunting task against a team that is number one in the NFL in total defense. Edmunds had two kick returns last week of 27 and 16 yards. TE Bucky Hodges is on the practice squad for the Panthers.
Oakland at Washington – 8:30 p.m.
CB Kendall Fuller and the Washington Redskins will host the Oakland Raiders at FedEx Field. Tech Alum Torian Gray is a member of the Redskins’ staff. Fuller registered four tackles in last week’s win against the Rams.
Monday, Sept. 25
Dallas at Arizona – 8:30 p.m.
Head Coach Bruce Arians and the Arizona Cardinals host the Dallas Cowboys at University of Phoenix Stadium. The Cardinals are coming off a win against the Colts while the Cowboys suffered a loss on Sunday night to the Broncos. Tech Alum Nick Rapone serves as the defensive backs coach for the Cardinals’ staff. T Vinston Painter is on the Cardinals’ practice squad.
Other Sunday Games Featuring Hokies
Denver at Buffalo – 1 p.m.
QB Tyrod Taylor, TE Logan Thomas and the Buffalo Bills will host the Denver Broncos at New Era Field. A week after facing the leagues number one total defense, Taylor will face a defense that is ranked fourth in total defense. Taylor completed 17 of 25 passes for 125 yards and carried the ball eight times for 55 yards in last week’s matchup against the Panthers.
Pittsburgh at Chicago – 1 p.m.
CB Kyle Fuller and the Chicago Bears play the Pittsburgh Steelers at Soldier Field. Fuller and the Bears are looking for their first win of the season while the Steelers are seeking to go 3-0 on the season. Fuller finished with four tackles in last week’s matchup against the Buccaneers.
Seattle at Tennessee – 4:05 p.m.
S Kam Chancellor and the Seattle Seahawks travel to Tennessee to take on the Titans at Nissan Stadium. Both teams are 1-1 after both teams got their first victory. Seattle won a close 12-9 match, while the Titans ground out a 37-16 win against the Jaguars. Chancellor is serving as a captain for Seattle and registered five tackles against the 49ers. Former Hokies’ S Nick Sorensen serves as the secondary coach for the Seahawks.
Kansas City at L.A. Chargers – 4:25
The Kansas City Chiefs will play AFC West rival L.A. Chargers at the StubHub Center. The Chiefs are red hot after a 2-0 start while the chargers are still looking for their first win on the season after two close loses to the Broncos and the Dolphins. LB Dadi Nicolas is still on the PUP list, recovering from a ruptured patellar tendon suffered week 17 of the 2016 season.
Miami at N.Y. Jets – 1 p.m.
The Miami Dolphins take on the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. WR Isaiah Ford is currently on IR for Miami after suffering a knee injury during the preseason.
Thursday, Sept. 21
L.A. Rams at San Francisco – 8:25 p.m.
The L.A. Rams will face the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday night football. RB Sam Rogers is on the Rams’ practice squad.
