Acree Joins Strength & Conditioning Staff in Full-Time Role
Former Hokies lineman continues strong tradition of performance training for Tech

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech Athletics announced the addition of Nick Acree to the strength and conditioning staff as an assistant director Wednesday. Acree was promoted to a full-time role under Associate Athletics Director – Strength and Conditioning, Ben Hilgart

The King William, Va., native previously serving as a graduate assistant on the strength and conditioning staff working with the football program. Acree began his playing career at defensive tackle for Tech as a redshirt freshman in 2010 before moving to offensive tackle in 2011. While his playing career was cut short by a knee injury, he still holds the program record with a 505-pound bench press in 2012. Acree concluded his prep career at Fork Union Military Academy before enrolling at Tech. He holds a degree from Tech in English/creative writing.
