GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech sophomore wide receiver Isaiah Ford, who has put together a record-setting season, highlights the six Hokies named to the 2015 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Football Team announced Wednesday and voted upon by the league’s 14 head coaches.

Ford was the only first-team selection, while both defensive tackle Luther Maddy and tight end Bucky Hodges made the second team. Defensive end Dadi Nicolas earned a spot on the third team as defensive tackle Corey Marshall and running back Travon McMillian were among the conference players who were honorable-mention selections.

Ford, who was a 2015 first-team choice by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association (ACSMA) and an honorable mention by both entities last season, led the ACC in both receiving yards (937) and receiving touchdowns (10) this season. The sophomore out of Jacksonville, Florida broke two single-season school records during the year, including the touchdown receptions mark and the overall receptions mark (63). He is just 26 receiving yards shy of eclipsing that school record as well. He has caught at least two passes in every game of his career (25) and is two games shy of tying the school record for consecutive games with at least one reception.

Maddy makes it three straight years of earning a postseason spot on the coaches team, as he was an honorable mention selection last year and a third-team choice in 2013. It is his second recognition from the ACC this year, as he was previously selected to the 2015 All-ACC ACSMA first team. Maddy returned to the Hokies in 2015 after suffering an injury last year and has started in all 12 games and has 55 career games played at Tech, tying the school record. He ended the regular season with 54 tackles (16 solo), including 6.5 for loss and two sacks. The redshirt senior from Delray Beach, Florida added three quarterback hurries, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery to his totals.

Hodges is a coaches’ pick for the first time after earning a pair of third-team choices at tight end by the ACSMA in 2014 and 2015. The sophomore out of Virginia Beach, Virginia caught 36 passes for 492 yards and six touchdowns in 2015, while going for 45/526/7 in 2014. His career numbers of 81 receptions and 1,018 yards are closing in on the top 15 all time in the conference for tight ends, while his 13 career touchdown receptions are already the third most ever for a tight end in the ACC.

Nicolas earns a spot on the coaches’ team for the second straight year, as the Delray Beach, Florida product was voted a second-team member in 2014. Nicolas started 11 games for Tech this season and played in all 12. He has registered 40 tackles (19 solo), with 5.5 going for a loss, including one sack. Nicolas adds five quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries to his totals. His second-team All-ACC selection last year was a result of 72 total tackles, 18.5 for loss, nine sacks, 35 quarterback hurries. His numbers dipped a bit this year due to several hand injuries.

Marshall, who was a second-team selection last season, adds this to his 2015 honorable mention pick by the ACSMA. Limited by injuries this year, he started just five games and played sparingly in four others. Marshall has totaled 14 tackles (seven solo) and had 5.5 for loss, including 2.5 sacks. The redshirt senior from North Dinwiddie, Virginia, also has forced two fumbles and added three quarterback hurries to his totals.

Completing Tech’s All-ACC honors is McMillian, a redshirt freshman from Woodbridge, Virginia. McMillian saw limited action through the first five games (32 attempts, 223 yards and no touchdowns), but broke out in the final seven regular-season games (152/737/5), which included three straight 100-plus yard rushing games. He is 40 yards shy of 1,000 for the season – only 10 freshmen have reached the milestone in a season in the ACC and only two Hokies. He is fifth in the conference in rushing.

The Hokies ended their regular season with a 23-20 victory over Virginia on Saturday, Nov. 28, to secure a 6-6 record and became bowl eligible for the 23rd straight season. Tech will travel to Shreveport, Louisiana to play in the Independence Bowl against Tulsa on Dec. 26.
