Virginia Tech continues its ACC schedule this weekend looking to win its second straight game. The Hokies will face the Miami Hurricanes this Saturday with a 3:30 p.m. kick. Virginia Tech Seeks to Register Back-to-Back ACC Wins, Hokies Are 4-2 in Last Six Games at Miami

• Virginia Tech is seeking to produce back-to-back wins after registering a 28-13 win vs. North Carolina State (10/9).
• Miami suffered a 29-24 loss at Florida State (10/10) and is seeking to avoid a three-game losing streak.
• Miami is 9-7 in home ACC games under Al Golden. The Hurricanes haven’t had a home game since a 36-33 win vs. Nebraska (9/19).
• Miami is seeking to avoid a four-game ACC losing streak for the first time dropping six straight from 11/3/07 to 10/4/08.
• Beamer is seeking his 110th ACC win, while Golden is aiming for his 17th career ACC victory. The duo is 2-2 head-to-head.
• The Hokies own three Orange Bowl appearances under Beamer, including a 20-7 win vs. Cincinnati (1/1/09).
• QB Michael Brewer could return for VT this week. He guided Tech to a 17-14 halftime lead vs. No. 1 Ohio State (9/7) before suffering a broken left clavicle early in the second half after completing 11 of 16 passes (61.0%) for 156 yards with two TDs (191.9 rating).

Virginia Tech’s #LunchPailD Has Allowed 15.0 PPG, Racked Up 8.0 Sacks in ACC Play

• Virginia Tech has allowed 15.0 ppg and has produced 4.0 sacks in each of its first two ACC contests vs. Pitt (10/3) & vs. NCSU (10/9).
• The Hokies are third in the ACC with 14.0 sacks. Only Duke (4.0) has allowed fewer sacks than Miami (6.0).
• VT is 10-2 (.833) when producing 3.0 or more sacks in ACC road games.
• VT is 24-2 (.891) in ACC road games when allowing 17 points or fewer. One of those losses was a 16-14 setback at Miami (11/13/08).
• Miami has lost nine straight when being held to 17 points or fewer.
• Tech is 18-1 (.947) in ACC road games when scoring 30+ points. That lone setback was a 48-34 loss at UNC (10/6/12).
• VT has outscored its foes by 56 points (172-116), while Miami has outpointed its opponents by 52 points (186-134).
• The Hokies are 17-3 (.850) in ACC road games when registering 400+ net yards of total offense.

Virginia Tech, Miami Are the ACC’s Two Best Squads in Turnover Margin

• Miami (+9) and Virginia Tech (+6) are atop the ACC turnover margin chart. VT (13) and GT (13) are tied for the ACC’s most takes.
• The Hokies rank second in the ACC with six opponent fumble recoveries and are tied for third with seven INTs.
• Tech is 19-2 (.905) in ACC play when it doesn’t commit a turnover, including last week’s win vs. NC State (10/9).
• The Hokies are 23-3 (.885) on the road in ACC action with two or more takeaways (11-1 in last 12 such games).
• Miami has lost four of its last five games when it commits two or more turnovers. Miami has only two giveaways in 2015.
• The Hurricanes have committed only one giveaway in their last four games and have thrown only one INT all season.
• Virginia Tech true freshman S Adonis Alexander leads Tech and is fourth in the ACC with three interceptions.
• Miami’s offense is last in the ACC on third down at 30.4%, converting a league-low 21 third downs for first downs (21 of 69).

Hokies Seek to Maintain Offensive Efficiency in the Air Against Hurricanes, More ACC Tidbits

• QB Brenden Motley ranks second in the ACC with 10 TD passes. Only UVA (14) has allowed more TD passes than Miami (8).
• Only UVA (161.9) and Syracuse (141.1) have permitted opponents a higher passer rating than Miami (122.7).
• The Hurricanes have intercepted eight opponents’ passes. Louisville (9) is the only ACC squad with more.
• Motley is third in the ACC with a 7.1 touchdown percentage, while Miami QB Brad Kaaya is ninth (4.2).
• P A.J. Hughes ranks eighth in the ACC with a 42.7-yard average and is tied for fourth with 10 punts inside the 20.
• WR Isaiah Ford leads the Hokies, averaging 73.0 yards of all-purpose yardage per game.
• Miami RB Joe Yearby is fifth in the ACC in all-purpose yardage (116.6 ypg) and rushing (91.4 ypg).
• CB Brandon Facyson leads Tech and ranks fourth in the ACC with eight passes defensed.
• LB Deon Clarke and DT Woody Baron both have 3.0 sacks to tie for the top mark on the Virginia Tech defense.
• Virginia Tech (31:08) ranks seventh in the ACC in time of possession, while Miami is 13th (29:50).
• Next week Virginia Tech returns home vs. Duke (10/24), while Miami hosts Clemson (10/24).
