Virginia Tech Hosts NC State For First Time Since 2009, Hokies Seek Fourth Straight Win vs. Wolfpack

• Virginia Tech and NC State are both seeking to return to the win column after suffering narrow home losses on Saturday.
• The Hokies are coming off a 17-13 setback vs. Pitt (10/3), while NC State suffered a 20-13 home loss vs. Louisville (10/3).
• VT has won three straight vs. NC State, tying Clemson for the longest active victory string among ACC squads against the Wolfpack.
• These two ACC teams haven’t met since Tech claimed a 41-30 win at No. 23 NC State (10/2/10).
• Virginia Tech owns a 3-1 mark against the Wolfpack in ACC play. Frank Beamer is 5-2-1 overall at Tech vs. NC State.
• Beamer is seeking his 109th ACC win, while NC State head coach Dave Doeren is aiming for his fourth career ACC victory.

• QB Brenden Motley ranks ninth in the ACC in both passer rating (133.4) and total offense (202. ypg).
• Motley is tied for third in the ACC with seven TD passes. Only Clemson’s Deshaun Watson (9) and UVA’s Matt Johns (8) have more.
• Motley is tied for fourth in the ACC with a 6.3 touchdown percentage.
• P A.J. Hughes ranks ninth in the ACC with a 41.8-yard average and is fourth with eight punts inside the 20.
• S Chuck Clark is tied for seventh in the ACC, averaging 8.2 tackles per game. He leads VT with 41 total tackles (23 solo).
• LB Deon Clarke has a team-high 5.0 TFLs, just ahead of DTs Woody Baron (4.5), Corey Marshall (4.0) and Luther Maddy (4.0).
• NC State leads the ACC in time of possession at 36:47 and is third in rushing defense (80.2 ypg).
