BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech football program will serve as the hosts for Fan Appreciation Day this Saturday, Aug. 15, at Lane Stadium.

Fan Appreciation Day starts at 11:15 a.m. for Hokie Kids’ Club members and 11:30 a.m. for the general public. The event is free of charge and open to people of all ages. Parking is also free, including Lots 1 (Cassell Coliseum), 2 (Lane Stadium South End zone) and 5 (Chicken Hill).

Hokie Kids’ Club members will enter the stadium through the southeast tunnel between Gates 1 and 2, while the general public enters through the southwest tunnel between Gates 2 and 3 (please click above for a Fan Appreciation Day map).

Fans will be allowed to get autographs from their favorite players and select coaches. All players will be in attendance and grouped at stations according to positions. Head coach Frank Beamer, defensive coordinator Bud Foster, offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler and running backs coach Shane Beamer will be available to sign autographs.

Fans can bring in outside items to be signed, but autograph seekers may only have one item signed at each station. Posters will be provide free of charge to those who wish to get one signed.

No posed photography will be allowed. This restriction allows fans to move through the lines as quickly as possible.

The Tech Athletics Ticket Office will be on site for fans wishing to buy season tickets, mini plans or club seating. Concession stands and the University Bookstore will be on site as well and open at 10 a.m. outside of Gate 2. An additional bookstore and concession stand will be set up on the field during the event.

Fan Appreciation Day will end promptly at 12:45 p.m. The autograph lines will close at 12:30 p.m. If it rains, the event will be moved onto the concourse level of Lane Stadium.

The Tech football team opens the 2015 season on Labor Day night against defending national champion Ohio State.
