2010: Participated in the punting competition during the preseason … Did not see any action during the season … Improved on all four major lifts during off-season weight room work.

2009: Joined the team as a walk-on and was redshirted … Joined in the competition for the punting duties when spring practiced opened … Had a 38-yard punt during one of the Hokies spring scrimmages … Added a 41-yard kick in the Maroon-White game.

High School: Lettered two seasons as a punter for Coach Tom Verbanic at Westfield High … Helped team to a state title as a junior in 2007 … Punted just 15 times during that season … Was an all-district pick as a senior after averaging 39 yards per kick on 28 punts … Had 11 punts inside the 10-yard line … Opponents had a combined total of 27 return yards for the season … Also competed in crew and raced in two state championships and two national championships.
