Tech to get unscheduled day off
Football Camp: Behind The Scenes
BLACKSBURG - After seven days of intense practice to begin the 2013 Virginia Tech Football Camp, head coach Frank Beamer has decided to give the Hokies Monday off as a chance to rest their bodies.

Several Hokies are banged up and giving them Monday off from practice will give them a chance to heal. The team will still hold its meetings in the morning and afternoon before adjourning after the team dinner in the early evening.

Tariq Edwards (leg), D.J. Coles (knee), Tony Gregory (knee), Ronny Vandyke (shoulder) and Charley Meyer (hamstring) are among key players who should benefit from the day off.

Tech will resume practice on Tuesday evening on the Steve Johnson Practice Fields. The team will hold its second scrimmage on Saturday night at 7 p.m. inside Lane Stadium. It is open to the public.
