Women's cross country squad named All-Academic
Tech is one of eight ACC schools honored

BLACKSBURG, Va. The Virginia Tech women’s cross country squad received 2009 USTFCCCA NCAA Division I Women’s Cross Country All-Academic Team honors, the coaches association announced on Friday.

The women’s squad accumulated a 3.14 team grade point average to become one of 57 schools, including eight from the Atlantic Coast Conference, honored for the award. The women’s unit finished the year with a 15th-place showing at the NCAA Southeast Regional.

For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Championship and also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative GPA.
