BLACKSBURG - The rosters have been set for the 2013 Virginia Tech Fall World Series, which will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 5:30 p.m. at English Field.
The Hokies are scheduled to play a five-game set (seven innings each), but due to weather, they have a "To Be Determined" game that will either be played Wednesday or Thursday night. However, the entire rest of the slate is set and now includes a 10 a.m. start time on Saturday, the same day as the Hokies football game with the Duke Blue Devils at Lane Stadium, which kicks off at 3:30 p.m.
All Fall World Series games are open to the public and admission to English Field is free.
As released earlier, rather than split into the traditional school colors for the game, the Hokies decided to bring attention to two worthy causes and will name their squads – Team Autism Awareness and Team Stop Bullying. The teams are wearing special shirts in honor of each cause.
Also, as a reminder, this weekend the program is hosting an alumni weekend, please contact Gabe Ortiz (540-231-9976, gabe0730@vt.edu) in the baseball office for more information.
