Career Highlights: Finished junior year ranked in six ACC career categories, among active players in the league – third in average (.338), hits per game (1.30), total bases per game (1.90) and stolen bases (52), fourth in slugging percentage (.495) and fifth in runs (141) … Became just the seventh Hokie to amass at least 200 hits through junior season and finished tied for the fourth most (Trey McCoy, 213) at the end of that season … Became the second Hokie, as a member of the ACC, to steal at least 50 career bases (Nate Parks, 99) … Started 161 consecutive games … Led the team in batting average in two seasons, joining Johnny Oates (1966 & 1967) as the only two catchers at the school to lead the team in batting in two seasons – only five catches have done it total … Became first Hokie in the ACC to be a two-time All-ACC selection at the same position, and second overall (Steve Domecus: 2009, OF, 2010, C) ... Was second Hokie to be named to the All-ACC Academic Baseball Team three consecutive years (Michael Seaborn: 2009-11) ... Also joined Matt Griswold (1997-99) and Wyatt Toregas (2002-04) as the only three-time First Team All-VaSID team members ... Had been intentionally walked eight times, the most of any Hokie in the last 10 years … Had three walk-off RBI hits, including two home runs, and three walk-off runs scored … First walk-off hit was a bases-loaded RBI single versus No. 6 Miami on April 15, 2012 … Second walk-off was a 10th-inning solo home run versus Marist on May 12, 2013, which notched his first career multi-homer game … Third walk-off was a solo home run versus No. 7 Florida State on May 23, 2013 in the ACC Baseball Championship … Had 13 career game-winning RBIs and 17 career game-winning runs scored … Included first walk-off run scored versus Cornell on March 21, 2012 and scoring the game winner in the 12th frame in 1-0 victory at Boston College on May 3, 2013.

2014: One of four Hokies to start all 53 games – 40 at catcher, eight in right field, one each in center and left and three as the DH … Led the team with 23 multi-hit games, including eight with three (led team) and one with four … Tied for the team lead with 12 multi-RBI games, including three with three and two with four, and added nine multi-run scoring games, one with three and one with four … Was the only player in the ACC at the end of the regular season with at least 20 multi-hit games and more than 10 multi-RBI games … Had a season long six-game hitting streak and reached base in 12 straight … Led the team with a .330 average and 69 hits, which including 10 doubles, two triples and two home runs, for 89 total bases and a .426 slugging percentage (all second on the team) … Scored a team high 44 runs and drove in 39 (second) … Drew 32 walks (second), including a team-high five intentional, and was hit by a pitch six times (second) for a .426 on-base percentage (second) … Was 16-for-19 on stolen base attempts, second on the team … His 10.5 at-bat per strikeout ratio (209 AB/20 K) led the team and he was the only player with more than 90 at-bats to not ground into a double play … In the NCAA, was ranked in nine categories – 149th in stolen bases, 152nd in walks per game (0.60), 158th in stolen bases per game (0.30), 159th in runs per game (0.83), 169th in walks, 181st in toughest to strikeout (10.5), 187th in on-base percentage, 199th in runs and 254th in average … In the ACC, was top 10 in five categories (at the end of the regular season) – fourth in hits, seventh in average, tied for seventh in runs, tied for eighth in stolen bases and ninth in on-base percentage – and finished tied for seventh in average and 10th in on-base percentage in the final stats … In ACC-only games, second in stolen bases (12), fourth in hits (39) and 13th in average (.312).

2013: Was one of three Hokies to start all 62 games – 28 at catcher, 16 as DH, 14 in right and four in left … Was third on the team with 23 multi-hit games, including six games with three hits and two game with four … Tied for the team lead with 15 multi-RBI games and led the team with 21 multi-run scoring games … Also, tied for the team lead with a 14-game hitting streak and a 23-game reached base streak … Batted .341 (second on the team) with 79 hits (second), including 14 doubles (third), three triples (second) and nine home runs (third) for 126 total bases (third) and a .543 slugging percentage (third) … Scored 62 runs (first) and knocked in 51 (second) … Drew 32 walks (second), was hit by nine pitches (tied for third) and had a .433 on-base percentage (first) … Also led the team with 19 stolen bases in 24 attempts … In the NCAA, was 200th in batting average, 23rd in runs, 40th in runs per game (1.0), 105th in hits, 88th in home runs, 135th in home runs per game (0.15), 89th in RBIs, 115th in slugging, 66th in total bases and 114th in stolen bases … In the ACC, was 14th in batting average, sixth in runs, tied for eighth in home runs and tied for sixth in stolen bases … In ACC-only games, was tied for fourth in runs (28) and tied for seventh in walks (20).

2012: First freshman All-American honoree at Tech since 2004 (Sean O'Brien), and first freshman at Tech named to a postseason all-conference team since 2004 (O'Brien and Warren Schaeffer) when the Hokies were in the BIG EAST Conference … Made 48 starts – 30 at catcher, 14 as DH and one in right – and played in 49 games total … Posted a team-high 18 multi-hit games, including five games with three hits and one game with four … Was fourth on the team in both multi-RBI games (8) and multi-run games (9) … Led the team with a 13-game hitting streak and a 26-game reached base streak (longest at school since 2009) … Batted .344 (first on the team) with 65 hits (second), including 13 doubles (second), two triples (tied for third) and five home runs (fourth) for 97 total bases (third) and a .513 slugging percentage (third) … Scored 35 runs (fourth) and knocked in 34 (tied for third) … Drew 21 walks (third), was hit by nine pitches (tied for third) and had a .430 on-base percentage (first) … Also led the team with 17 stolen bases in 22 attempts … At the end of the year, in the NCAA, was 195th in batting average and 135th in stolen bases … In the ACC, was seventh in batting average, fourth in stolen bases and eighth in on-base percentage … In ACC-only games, was 18th in batting (.306), eighth in hits (37), second in stolen bases (12) and fifth in total bases (58).

High School: Earned varsity letters all four years while playing for Coach Steve Paolini at Holy Cross … Made 103 career starts for the Lancers and finished with a .538 average with 30 home runs, 156 runs scored and 153 RBIs … Also drew 119 walks and stole 84 bases … In senior season, batted .673 with six doubles, two triples, 11 home runs, 43 runs scored, 44 RBIs and 25 stolen bases … Named all-state, all-conference and all-county … Was named a 2011 Louisville Slugger High School All-American … Also played football – three varsity letters, all-conference and all-county selections – and basketball – one letter – for the Lancers.
