Career Highlights: Became first Hokie ever drafted three times (once out of high school) … In 2013, was the only starting pitcher in the nation with regular season wins over two top five teams as he beat No. 4 Florida State (March 30) and No. 5 Virginia (April 27) … Won five games in ACC, the fourth Hokie pitcher (Justin Wright, 2009, Mathew Price, 2010 and Devin Burke, 2013) to accomplish it … Finished regular season 5-0, to become first Tech starting pitcher to finish regular season undefeated since Brian Fitzgereald in 1993 … Again defeated No. 5 Virginia in ACC Baseball Championship to improve to 6-0 becoming first starting pitcher to be 6-0 since Joe Saunders (2002) … Moved into the top five all-time in career innings pitched at Tech with 299.2, passing Mike Williams (1988-90) by one frame … Tossed 214 career scoreless innings, 81 were perfect frames … Struck out the side seven times, posted a career-high 10.2 straight scoreless innings pitched and at one point, retired a career-high 14 straight batters – 13 of which were on May 18, 2012 at No. 6 North Carolina as he took a perfect game into the fifth inning.

2013: Started 13 games (third on the team) and appeared in 15 total … Had a 6-1 overall record and combined on a team-high two shutouts … Posted a team-low 2.85 ERA in a 75.2 innings pitched and struck out 50 batters (third) … Opponents batted just .283 against him … Registered seven quality starts, had six games of at least six innings pitched and four times went at least seven innings four times … Struck out at least two batters in seven appearances and more than five strikeouts five times … In the NCAA, was 203rd in ERA … In the ACC, was 14th in ERA and ninth in ERA in ACC-only games (2.73).

2012: Made a team-high 13 starts on the season … Posted a 5-6 record (third in wins) and posted a 3.53 ERA … Led the team in innings pitched with 81.2 innings and tied for the team-lead with 52 strikeouts … Opponents batted just .266 against him … Threw at least five frames in 11 starts with six quality starts and did not allow an earned run in three … Struck out at least five batters in seven games … In the conference, finished 17th in overall ERA and seventh in innings pitched (62.0) in ACC-only games.

2011: Appeared in 14 games, all starts … Posted a 5-8 record with a 4.36 ERA … Threw a total of 84.2 innings and struck out 66 batters … Led the staff with four pickoffs … Registered seven quality starts, but went just 4-2 in them … Threw at least five innings in 12 games … Struck out four batters nine times, including two games with six, one with eight and two with nine.

2010: Appeared in 22 games and made seven starts … Posted a 4-1 record with a 5.62 ERA and combined on three shutouts … Threw 57.2 innings and struck out 59 batters … Had two quality starts … Threw at least one inning of relief in 13 of his outings and did not allow an earned run in four of them … Struck out at least four batters seven times.

High School: Had a dominating career at Tunstall High School for Coach Barry Shelton, going 33-2 with a 1.00 ERA and 358 strikeouts in 238 innings pitched over four years … Went 11-1 as a senior, while batting .388 with three homers and 44 RBIs … Was the Class AA runner-up for state player of the year honors … Was named the Class AA Region IV player of the year and a first-team all-state team member ...
