Career Highlights: Became second Hokie in last 11 years to hit an inside-the-park home run (Tim Smalling, March 5, 2010) with his lead-off home run at Liberty on April 14, 2014 … Is the only Tech player in last 11 years to hit two first at-bat home runs in his career, which includes a solo shot at Florida State on March 27, 2015 ... Tied a school record with two triples in one game (shared by 14 others) with his effort versus West Virginia, May 5, 2015 ... Also, became second Hokie with 20 or more stolen bases in a single season in last 10 years (Nate Parks, 2006, 30; 2007, 39) and first freshman since Tim Buheller (1983, 33) to steal at least 20 bags with his 20 stolen bases in 2014.

2016: Started 48 games, all in center, and played in 50 games total … Had 16 multi-hit games, including a team-best eight with at least three and a tied a career-high with four hits versus William & Mary (April 5) … Added four multi-RBI games, including one with three, while tying for the team-lead with eight multi-run scoring games, including a career-high four versus Miami (March 11) … Notched a season-high nine game-hitting streak and a season-long 14-game reached base streak … Actually ran his personal streak to 27 straight games, which extended to last season … In fact, in 48 starts, failed to reach base in a game just four times … Batted .302 (third on the team) with 55 hits (fourth), including eight doubles and a triple (one of only four Hokies with a triple in 2016), for 65 total bases (fifth) and a .357 slugging percentage … Scored 34 runs (third) and added 23 RBIs … Drew a team-high 41 walks, including one intentional (one of three for the team in 2016) and was hit by four pitches for a team-leading .437 on-base percentage … Also added two sacrifice flies and a sacrifice bunt … Was 12-for-16 on stolen base attempts (led team in both) … Scored a team-high four game-winning runs … His 41 walks was tied for seventh in the ACC at the end of the regular season and was 71st in the country at the end of the 2016 season ... His 0.82 walks per game ranked him 30th in the coutnry at the end of the season.

2015: Started all 48 games played – 47 in center field and one as the DH … Was third on the team with 19 multi-hit games, including a team-high 10 games with at least three hits … Fifth on the team with five multi-RBI games, including one with three and a career-high six RBI contest (vs. West Virginia on May 5)… Also had six multi-run scoring games … Led the team with a career long 19-game hitting streak, ended the season with it, and reached base in a career-high 20 straight games, which also ended the season … Batted .330 (second on the team) with 68 hits (second), including 13 doubles (second), three triples (second) and three home runs, for 96 total bases (fourth) and a .466 slugging percentage (fourth) … Scored 29 runs and added 27 RBIs … Drew 22 walks, including one intentional, and was hit by one pitch for a .394 on-base percentage (third) … Also had two sacrifice flies and two sacrifice bunts … Was 10-for-11 on stolen base attempts, leading the team in both ... Scored two game-winning runs and notched two game-winning RBIs ... Had two outfield assists.

2014: Started all 51 games played, with 49 in centerfield and two as the DH … Had 17 multi-hit games, including four games with three hits and one with four, four multi-RBI games and a team-high 12 multi-run scoring games … Had a team-long 12-game hitting streak and a 19-game reached base streak … Batted .323 (second on the team) with 62 hits (second), including five doubles and a home run, for 70 total bases (third) and a .365 slugging percentage (third) … Scored 38 runs (second) and knocked in 16 more … Drew a team-high 40 walks, including one intentional, and was hit by four pitches for a .449 on-base percentage which led the team … Was 20-for-26 on stolen base attempts, which also led the team … Was second on the team with nine sacrifice hits … Scored a team-high six game-winning runs and notched two game-winning RBIs ... Had one outfield assist ... In the NCAA, was ranked in six categories – 20th in walks per game (0.78), 44th in walks, 71st in on-base percentage, 73rd in stolen bases per game (0.39), 75th in stolen bases and 159th in sacrifice bunts … In the ACC, was top 12 in four categories (at the end of the regular season) – tied for fourth in stolen bases, fifth in on-base percentage, sixth in walks and 12th in average – and finshed fourth in on-base percentage, fifth in stolen bases, tied for ninth in walks and 10th in average in the final stats … In ACC-only games, finished tied for fourth in stolen bases (8) and tied for 19th in average (.301).

2013: Redshirted the season.

High School: Earned varsity letters for three years while playing for Coach Bill Tussey at State College … Was named a preseason All-State Honorable Mention by ESPNHS entering senior year … Led the league in stolen bases in both his junior and senior seasons … Was a team captain, MVP and batted .430 as a senior … Also earned three varsity letters while playing football for the Little Lions and two letters in indoor track, making states as a long jumper.
