Career Highlights: Became Tech’s 14th highest MLB draft selection and also became the 14th Hokie to be named an All-American … Is Tech’s third player ever named All-ACC First Team … Became Tech’s second participant in the TD Ameritrade College Home Run Derby … Had 11 career game-winning RBIs and nine career game-winning runs scored … Those include a walk-off two-run home run versus Longwood in the 10th inning on April 9, 2013 and scoring the go-ahead run in the 11th frame in a win at Duke on March 15, 2013 … Had three career multi-home run games, including in back-to-back games versus Marist (May 11-12, 2013) … Hit at least 10 home runs in back-to-back seasons to become first Hokie since Brad Bauder did it in 2002 and 2003 … Tied a Tech single game record for triples with two at Duke on March 16, 2013, which also tied the ACC record … Also, in 2013, finished first on the Hokies’ top five list in a single season with 257 at-bats, second in doubles with 26, and tied for fifth in hits with 88.

2013: Was one of three Hokies to start all 62 games – 54 in left, seven in right and one as DH … Led the team with 30 multi-hit games, including six games with three hits and three with four, tied for the team lead with 15 multi-RBI games and was second on the team with 15 multi-run scoring games … Had an 11-game hitting streak and a 12-game reached base streak … Led the team with a .342 batting average, 88 hits, 26 doubles, four triples and a team-high tying 11 home runs for a team-high 155 total bases and a .603 slugging percentage … Scored 58 runs (second) and knocked in 50 runs (tied for third) … Drew 18 walks, was hit by four pitches and had a .391 on-base percentage (third) … Was 5-for-9 on stolen base attempts … Also, tied for the team lead with three outfield assists, pushing career total to six … In the NCAA, was 181st in batting average, 39th in runs, 73rd in runs per game, 28th in hits, fourth in doubles, 11th in doubles per game (0.42), 47th in home runs, 74th in home runs per game (0.18), 102nd in RBIs, 42nd in slugging and 12th in total bases … In the ACC, was 12th in batting, tied for fifth in hits, eighth in runs, tied for fifth in home runs, second in doubles, second in total bases and third in slugging … In ACC-only games, was ninth in batting (.347), fourth in hits (42), second in runs (31), tied for second in doubles (12), tied for third in triples (3), tied for fifth in total bases (69) and eighth in slugging (.570).

2012: Made 54 starts overall – 48 in left, five in right and one as DH … Posted 15 multi-hit games, including one game with three hits and one game with four … Led the team with 12 multi-run and 13 multi-RBI games … During the season, had an 18-game reached base streak … Batted .282 (third on the team) with 53 hits (fourth), including eight doubles, two triples and 15 home runs (first) for 110 total bases (second) and led the team with a .585 slugging percentage … Led the team with 45 runs and 41 RBIs … Drew 27 walks (second), was hit by 12 pitches (first) and had a .400 on-base percentage (second), and was second on the team with seven stolen bases on nine attempts … Also led the team with three outfield assists … At the end of the year, in the NCAA, was 17th in home runs per game (0.28), 22nd in home runs and 64th in slugging percentage … In the ACC, was third in home runs and fourth in slugging, while in ACC-only games was tied for third in home runs (7), tied for fourth in RBIs (24), ninth in slugging (.514) and tied for 10th in total bases (56) .

2011: Made nine starts – six in right and three as designated hitter – and played in 28 games total … Posted three multi-hit games, including two games with three hits … Also had two multi-run and two multi-RBI games, both three-RBI efforts … Ended the season with a seven-game hitting streak … Batted .396 with 19 hits, including seven doubles, one triple and three home runs for 37 total bases and a .771 slugging percentage … Scored 12 runs and drove in 12 … Was 3-for-4 on stolen base attempts … Also had a .434 on-base percentage … Had been used six times as a pinch runner, scoring twice, and nine times as a pinch hitter, registering a team-high four pinch-hits (.444).

2010: Redshirted the season.

High School: Was a three-year starter for Coach Norm Walsh at Boston College High … As a senior, led his team to a second consecutive state championship, while batting .407 with 31 runs scored, 24 RBIs, six doubles, five triples, five homers and 15 stolen bases … Was named to the Massachusetts all-state team, as well as the all-scholastic team by both the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald … Was the 2009 Massachusetts Sectional All-Star Team MVP, as well as a member of the Catholic Conference All-Star Team … In 2008, was named to the Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic Team after hitting .376 with 16 stolen bases, 29 RBIs and 33 runs scored, while adding seven doubles, three triples and two home runs … Was also a three-year starter and all-star running back in football, and scored 16 touchdowns in nine games as a senior.
