Career Highlights: Started both the 2013 ACC Baseball Championship game against No. 3 North Carolina on May 26 and Tech’s elimination game against Oklahoma in the NCAA Blacksburg Regional on June 2 … Had a no-hitter broken up with two outs in the fifth in his first two starts of 2013 – versus Temple (Feb. 23) and Ohio (Mar. 1) … Tossed 73 career scoreless innings, 31 were perfect frames … Struck out the side four times, posted a career-high 9.1 straight scoreless innings pitched and at one point, retired a career-high 12 straight batters.
2013: Appeared in 16 games making five starts … Posted a 2-5 record with a 5.40 ERA in a total of 46.2 innings and struck out 38 batters … In his five starts, had a 4.55 ERA in 29.2 innings with 24 strikeouts and opponents hit just .196 against him … Threw at least 1.0 innings in nine relief outings and did not allow an earned run in four of them … Struck out at least two batters in four games out of the pen and in each of his five starts … Pitched a total of 35 scoreless innings, including a career-high 9.1 consecutive … Also, threw 17 perfect frames and struck out the side twice.
