THE SERIES
This is just the fourth meeting between the two teams with Penn State having won the previous three contests. The two teams last met on Dec. 12, 2012 at Cassell Coliseum when the 11th-ranked Nittany Lions picked up the 60-41 decision. Young and Campbell are the only members of the current Tech team who were also on the team at the time, but neither played in the game.
The only member of the Nittany Lions team to see the court the last time is Banks who had six rebounds and a block as a freshman against the Hokies.
Tech is looking to pick up its first win in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge since 2012 when the Hokies defeated Wisconsin, 47-38. This is the first time Tech has played PSU as part of The Challenge.
Up Next: Virginia Tech travels to No. 8/8 Tennessee on Sunday, Dec. 6 for a 2 p.m. game in Knoxville, Tenn.
