BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Tech women's basketball team is back on the road, traveling to Atlanta, Ga. to face Georgia Tech on Sunday, Feb. 1 in a 2 p.m. game at McCamish Pavilion.

THE HOKIES (10-11, 1-7 ACC)
Virginia Tech fell to No. 4/4 Notre Dame the last time out. Hannah Young led Tech with 13 points, three assists a block and a steal. Samantha Hill tallied nine and Vanessa Panousis chipped in eight. Sidney Cook and Taijah Campbell each grabbed five rebounds.
The Hokies kept it close early in the first half, trailing by four with 12:15 on the clock before the Irish broke it open, using a 12-0 run to go up by double-digits for good. Virginia Tech outscored Notre Dame in the second half 33-31, but was unable overcome the halftime deficit.
Rachel Camp leads the Hokies on the season, averaging 14.6 points per game and currently ranks 12th in the ACC in scoring. Panousis is adding 13.8 points (17th in the ACC) and handing out 3.5 assists per game to rank ninth in the conference. The sophomore guard is also third on the ACC list for three-pointers made, averaging 2.5. Campbell leads the team with 6.8 rebounds while adding 7.2 ppg.
THE YELLOW JACKETS (13-9, 3-5 ACC)
Georgia Tech fell to No. 9/9 Florida State, 82-62 on Friday. The Yellow Jackets had three players reach double-digits and were led by Aaliyah Whiteside with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Kaela Davis added 15 points and Zaire O’Neil tallied 10.
Florida State got out to a 42-28 lead at the break after shooting 51.5 percent from the field while holding the Yellow Jackets to just 24.1 percent in the opening frame. In the second half, Georgia Tech had a better showing from the floor, knocking down 40.6 percent, but the Seminoles still maintained the scoring advantage, outscoring the Jackets 40-34.
Davis leads Georgia Tech and ranks second in the ACC in scoring this season, averaging 20.9 points per game. Whiteside is adding 12.7 ppg and pulling down 6.3 rebounds per game. O’Neil is tallying 11.1 ppg. Roddreka Rogers leads the Jackets on the boards with 9.4 rpg.
THE SERIES
Georgia Tech leads the series 7-5 and won the game last season 73-52 in Blacksburg. However the Hokies won the game the last time the two teams met in Atlanta, claiming a 63-61 decision on Feb. 8, 2013.
Last season, former Tech player Uju Ugoka dropped in 22 points and had 10 rebounds for the Hokies while Campbell tallied 10 points. Georgia Tech’s top returner from the game is Davis, who had 12 points. The Jackets were led by Tyaunna Marshall’s 30 points in the game.
From the game in Atlanta, the Hokies only returner is Young who recorded two points, a pair of assists and a steal in the win her freshman season. Whiteside tallied 11 for the Jackets.
