Sophomore Blake Fiest returned to the lineup following an injury in the fall and competed for the team at the Augusta Invitational and Wolfpack Spring Open. Suwannarut was the team’s Co-Player of the Year and also earned the team’s Rookie of the Year award. His season was very similar to Lawrence’s, as he competed in every event and was second on the team in both scoring, with a 71.88 average, and rounds at par-or-better, with 19. Suwannarut climbed into third place in All-Time scoring at Virginia Tech following the season, behind only Lawrence and Scott Vincent, and was named to the Virginia Collegiate All-State second team. Freshman Tom Crow earned a place in the starting lineup for three events in the spring and was elected by his teammates to represent Men’s Golf on the Student-Athlete Advisory Council next season along with Hildebrand. Mark Lawrence Jr.and Sarit Suwannarut received individual bids to the NCAA Regional in West Lafayette, Ind. Mark Lawrence Jr. is now the all-time scoring leader at Virginia Tech with a 71.5 career average.
