Although only a freshman and away from his native country for the first time, he is very mature beyond his years. He played in every event in the fall and while he was a bit erratic at times, he showed a tremendous amount of promise by never letting a bad shot or poor hole get him down. A second-round 68 at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate is indicative of his potential and I expect Slade to be a very consistent performer for the Hokies. —Coach Jay Hardwick “ ” SLADE PICKERING Pickering’s Statistics Rounds Strokes Average Low Fall 2017 15 1145 76.33 68
