T H A N K – Y O U T O U R Shortly after returning from the program’s first trip to the NCAA Tournament in a decade, Coach Buzz Williams put into place a novel, new idea in which he felt very strongly. He wanted to say “Thank You” to some very special people. Coach Williams often talks about what makes his players special – their parents. He holds very special relationships with the families of his student-athletes and wanted to take time during the offseason to express his gratitude to the individuals. Coach Williams flew the entire staff to meet with each returning players’ parents, traveling all across the country to say “Thank You” for everything they have done. Coach Williams recruits a certain type of player and a certain type of person, and the parents play the primary role in the character of those players. They stand as the MVP’s before the student-athlete arrives on campus and continue to impact the team in a positive manner throughout the season. On top of all that, the Thank-You Tour was just another way for Coach Williams and the Virginia Tech family to say “I Love You More.” @VT_MBBall @vthokiembb VTMBBALL 20
